Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on 17 April 1973. Her family was however raised within Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner served as engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local school. Her father was a chemical engineer so she wanted to be similar to her father. In order to fulfill her ambition of becoming actress, she relocating into New York to try her chance in the movie industry. The restaurant she worked in was while appearing in Broadway plays. Her cameo was in the television series "Felicity." (It it was on this show that she met her first husband, Scott Foley.) Garner received her first break with the action-thriller "Alias." Her first lead role was in the critically acclaimed romantic comedy "13 Going thirty." Garner played a teen trapped in the 30-year old body. Garner selected Gary Winick for the role as director. Both actors continued working together on other projects up until Winick died in 2011. The year 2009 was the first time Garner has been named as an ambassador to the arts for Save the Children U.S.A. This includes the advancement of literacy, nutrition and early education. Garner is a board member for this nonprofit organization since 2014. She promotes early preschool education. She has been a spokesperson to the Early Steps to School Success Program. She coaches parents on ways to aid their children's learning.
