Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28th, 1967 on the 28th of October, 1967 in Atlanta to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is the fourth Roberts generation living in Atlanta that began with her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. Her father had the first interest to theater. He performed on his Emory University campus in 1952 and in other productions around Atlanta. He joined the military in 1953 and, while being stationed at Biloxi Mississippi, he was cast in an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in the air force. They got married in the year 1955. Their first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957, the couple had a break from the military and Walter began studying at Tulane University. Walter started work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local Saturday morning children's show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. In 1964, Betty Lou and Walter established The Actors and Writers Workshop. The organization lasted for a total of the duration of six years. They were joined by Lelisa Billingsley (also referred to as Lisa) as well as Julia (also known as Julie) in this time.
